This 100 year old timber frame house in New Brunswick, Canada lies on the banks of the Miramichi River. It is being carefully restored and re-built for private clients.

It is part of an extended project which also includes a new barn and fishing lodge by the river.

A close examination of the existing house showed that the original sole plates had been affected by rot and termites. The solution involved jacking up the entire structure and fitting new timbers before lowering it back into place. Windows and doors were replaced and new cedar shingles fitted to the outside. Two unsympathetic extensions were removed and more compatible porches added. The house and barn were completely stripped out and re-planned around a new chimney stack with modern kitchen and bathrooms to complete the restoration.
